Barcelona showing interest in 18-year-old Ligue 1 talent, Atletico Madrid also keen

Because of their well-documented financial woes, Barcelona will have to be savvy with their money during the upcoming summer transfer window, and that could mean that they look to sign promising up-and-comers, rather than established stars.

If they follow this route, someone they could look to sign is 18-year-old Rennes talent Desire Doue. TBR Football (via MD) have reported that Barcelona are one of the many clubs showing interested in the French youngster, who has had a fantastic campaign in Ligue 1.

Atletico Madrid are also reportedly showing interest, as they also look to work around their financial problems. With two of La Liga’s big three keen, there’s a solid chance that Doue ends up in Spanish football, possibly as early as this summer.

In Barcelona’s case, they have been tracking Doue for some time, and they actually invited him and his agent to one of their matches last season. It remains to be seen whether they can secure a deal in the summer.
