Atletico Madrid girls youth team annihilates competition on way to mixed league title

Atletico Madrid‘s Benjamin girls team won the league this weekend for the age group, in a mixed league with both girls and boys teams competing. Not that there was much competing going on, as they tore apart their opposition.

The age group is under-9s, and Atletico’s girls won all 20 of their games to lift the league title in the first division of their seven-a-side competition, as per Marca. That is almost the least impressive part of their triumph. Channeling their inner Barcelona Femeni, Atletico scored 128 goals, an average of 6.4 per game, and conceded just 10 goals on their way to a 100% record.

🇪🇸💫 Carlos Martín scores his 15th goal for Mirandes this season in Segunda.

Sergio Camello also scored 15 for them during the 21/22 season.

He is just four goals away from equaling the historic record of a Mirandes player in Segunda.

Los Rojiblancas, the senior side, lie some way behind Real Madrid in the Liga F this season, but prior to Real Madrid buying over a women’s team, and changing their name in 2020, Atletico were one of the leading powers in the women’s game traditionally, and their clash with Barcelona was always considered the ‘Clasico’ of Liga F.
