Atletico Madrid starlet will have chance to impress Diego Simeone during pre-season

Carlos Martin is currently having an excellent season with Mirandes. After scoring against Racing de Ferrol last weekend, the 22-year-old attacker took his Segunda tally to 15, which has him fifth in the goalscoring standings.

Martin is loan at Mirandes from Atletico Madrid, and his parent club have been keeping tabs on his situation. He will return to Los Rojiblancos once the current campaign has ended, and according to MD, the idea is for him to remain with Diego Simeone’s squad for their pre-season schedule.

Sergio Camello also scored 15 for them during the 21/22 season.

He is just four goals away from equaling the historic record of a Mirandes player in Segunda.

At this stage, Martin will have the chance to impress Simeone, and if he does so, he could be retained by Atleti for the 2024-25 season. This could especially be the case if the likes of Alvaro Morata, Memphis Depay and Angel Correa were to depart during the transfer window.

Currently, it’s more likely that Martin goes out on loan to another La Liga club, so that he can continue his promising development. Either way, Atletico Madrid look to have another exciting youngster on their hands.
