Deschamps Spoils Giroud Choice, Milan Haggling with Duo

Olivier Giroud has decided to wait to announce his Milan departure, but further confirmations about his MLS future have come from France manager Didier Deschamps. He spoke about his veteran striker to AFP (via OneFootball).

“He made a sporting and life choice. Despite his age, he still has the right fire inside him. It’s also an opportunity. He’ll reunite with Hugo Lloris and his family. He wants to continue his career but with lesser demands compared to Europe. That doesn’t impact my choice since he’ll stay at Milan until the end of the season. He’s experienced but faces competition like everybody else. This transfer won’t make him gain or lose points in my eyes.”

Milan might be headed for a complete overhaul of their no.9 position. On top of losing Giroud, they aren’t certain to keep Luka Jovic. He signed a seasonal deal with a multi-year option last summer. The Rossoneri don’t want to pick it up, as his salary would be pretty high. They intend to renegotiate the numbers. His exit can’t be excluded. He’s drawing interest from a few foreign clubs, Nicolò Schira informed (via Mediaset).

Moreover, Milan need to come to terms with Francesco Camarda, who can sign his first pro contract, Calciomercato reports. Zlatan Ibrahimovic barged into the talks and deemed the wages requested by his agent Giuseppe Riso excessive, and the respective stances stiffed up.
