Juventus Player Ratings vs Roma: Explosive Chiesa Shines Entertaining Draw

Federico Chiesa has scored just once in the last two months, and the concerns about his Juventus future are beginning to intensify for a few reasons

In the biggest tilt of the Serie A weekend, Roma and Juventus clashed heads at the Stadio Olimpico. The hosts took the lead after 15 minutes when Romelu Lukaku pounced on the rebound, but Gleison Bremer restored parity at the half-hour mark. Both sides had their chances afterwards but the result remained unchanged. So here are our player ratings for Juventus who registered their fourth draw in a row after sharing the spoils with Roma in the Italian capital.

Juventus (3-5-2)

Wojciech Szczesny – 6.5

The Juventus defenders were all over the place at times, which didn’t help the Pole’s cause. But still made some vital stops, including an injury-time save on Tammy Abraham.

Federico Gatti – 6

The Italian defender made a goal-line clearance to deny Bryan Cristante, but only to present the ball on silver plate to Lukaku. Found mild success on his attacking forays, but was dispossessed late in the match which almost gifted Abraham the winner.

Gleison Bremer – 6.5

The Brazilian defender was no match in the air for Lukaku, and was also outplayed by Paulo Dybala on the opener, but atoned himself by nodding home the winner with a nice header.

Danilo – 6

It was a mixed bag for the Juventus captain who struggled to contain Lukaku and Tommaso Baldanzi at times, but still made significant interceptions, including a goal-line clearance on Kristensen’s shot.

Timothy Weah – 5.5

The former Lille man earned a starting spot following an encouraging display against Milan last week, but this might be a slight step back. Offered little on either end of the pitch and almost got himself sent for a rash challenge on Leandro Parades which prompted Max Allegri to haul him off immediately afterwards.

Weston McKennie – 6

The American ran his socks off whether in midfield on the right flank, but his touch lacked quality.

Manuel Locatelli – 6

An influential display in the middle of the park from the Italian who won possession several times. Although he didn’t connect well with ball, he almost find the top corner if it wasn’t for a stunning save from Mile Svilar.

Adrien Rabiot – 6.5

The former PSG man produced one of his most inspirational displays in a long time. Trotted forward like a crazy horse with the ball at his feet, leaving his opponents in the dust. But still lacked the final product.

Andrea Cambiaso – 6

The former Bologna man started on the left wing before moving to the right side. It wasn’t his most impactful display, but he was willing to put on a fight for every ball.

Dusan Vlahovic – 5.5

The Serbian could have put Juventus ahead early on but couldn’t hit the target. Worked hard for his team, but couldn’t inflict any damage.

Federico Chiesa – 7

The Euro 2020 star provided the assist for Bremer’s equalizer with a sublime cross with his left foot. He almost scored himself with the same foot after dribbling past Rasmus Kristensen but his ferocious strike was denied by the post. Simply the Bianconeri’s main source of inspiration.

Substitutes

Filip Kostic – 5.5

The left winger’s introduction had little influence on the match.

Moise Kean – 6

Almost scored the winner with a powerful header, but Svilar produced a solid save to extend the Italian’s agonizing goal drought.

Arkadiusz Milik – N/A

Carlos Alcaraz – N/A
