Manchester City star Bernardo Silva has set deadline for Barcelona to make deal happen

Manchester City star Bernardo Silva has long been on the shortlist for Barcelona, and the Portuguese is again open to a departure this summer, according to a number of reports. The 29-year-old is reportedly ready for a new challenge, but will start preseason at the club he will spend next year at.

Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with a move for Silva, and could be an option for him. He reportedly has a €58m release clause in the contract extension he signed last year, making him ‘affordable’ for Europe’s top clubs. Silva is also reportedly keen on a move to Barcelona, where he has asked Joao Felix and Ilkay Gundogan about the lifestyle there. However he wants his future resolved by the end of the Euros, that is to say the 14th of July, so that he can go on his holidays without spending time on his future, as per Sport.

Barcelona will need to make major sales for a deal for Silva to be something they can even contemplate. Xavi Hernandez has been a long-time admirer of Silva, and there is no doubt he would talk into the starting line-up. However with other positional needs more desperate, and Silva on the verge of his thirties, it is certainly a risk too.
