Real Madrid ask to move La Liga clash in order to allow extra rest before Bayern Munich showdown

1 week ago 7

After Real Madrid secured progression to the Champions League semi-finals on Wednesday, having overcome Manchester City on penalties in their quarter-final match-up, the dates for their showdown tie with Bayern Munich were confirmed less than 24 hours later.

Los Blancos will make the trip to the Allianz Arena on the 30th of April, before the return leg at the Santiago Bernabeu seven days later. Three days before that first leg, Real Madrid will have to make the tough trip to Donostia-San Sebastian to take on Real Sociedad at the Reale Arena.

However, as revealed by Diario AS, Real Madrid have already asked La Liga to bring forward that match by 24 hours, which would ensure an extra day of rest before the match in Munich. If approved, the game would take place next Friday at 9pm CEST.

Often in these cases, La Liga have approved these requests, so the likelihood is that Real Madrid will get their wish, so Los Blancos should be able to have the best possible opportunity to secure a 15th crown this season in the European Cup/Champions League.
