Mark Noble and Tim Steidten want West Ham to appoint Ruben Amorim as their next manager, believing it would show major intent according to reports.

The Hammers are looking to replace David Moyes, who is expected to leave the club at the end of the season after four and a half years in charge.

The Scot led the Hammers to the Europa Conference League last season, and made the quarter finals of the Europa League this campaign, but they look set to miss out on European football next season.

Sporting Lisbon boss Amorim is a man in demand, and was the favourite to succeed Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool before they decided on Arne Slot, whilst he has also been mentioned as a target for Chelsea if they replace Mauricio Pochettino.

The 39-year-old who has a release clause in excess of £10m, had a meeting with West Ham last month, and apologised to Sporting Lisbon fans following the backlash he received.

Noble and Steidten want West Ham to appoint Ruben Amorim as the club’s next manager.

Hammers owner David Sullivan is reportedly close to appointing former Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui as the club’s next manager, but talkSPORT report Noble and Steidten would prefer Amorim to be the next manager.

TalkSPORT add Amorim’s release clause could be a barrier for the owners, with the Spaniard seen as a more affordable option given he’s currently without a club.

Lopetegui would bring a wealth of experience with him, having managed the likes of Real Madrid and Seville, as well as the Spanish national team.

Amorim is viewed as one of the brightest prospects in European coaching, and it would be seen as a real coup if the Hammers were to appoint him.

It’s interesting how Lopetegui has emerged as the favourite for the job and is the only candidate that wouldn’t cost anything.

However if West Ham are to move forward as a club they need to be bold and appoint an exciting forward thinking manager, not just a cheap option.
