Predicted Teams Real Madrid-Cadiz: Changes aplenty planned by Carlo Ancelotti

1 week ago 13

Real Madrid can wrap up the La Liga title on Saturday. Should they defeat Cadiz in the afternoon, they would need Barcelona to drop points against Girona later in the day to be confirmed as champions. With that in mind, it could be a momentous day.

Carlo Ancelotti won’t be thinking about that, as his focus will be firmly on ensuring Cadiz are swept aside. The Italian will make significant changes, with next week’s Champions League semi-final second leg against Bayern Munich firmly in mind.

The big news is that Thibaut Courtois will be playing some minutes at the Santiago Bernabeu, his first in a competitive match in almost a year. Marca have him down to start, alongside the likes of Fran Garcia, Eder Militao, Luka Modric and Arda Guler.

Cadiz need an unlikely result to keep alive their hopes of avoiding relegation. Mauricio Pellegrino intends to bring back Javi Hernandez and Max Gomez into the starting line-up, to give the Andalusians the best chance of getting something from the champions-elect.

Real Madrid should secure a comfortable victory in this one, although they must be wary of any complacency creeping in. Cadiz are fighting for their lives, and they will look to take advantage of anything that comes their way. That being said, it should be relatively light work for Los Blancos.
