The French side were heavily fancied to overturn to that result on home turf but they were left stunned on Tuesday.

Despite hitting the woodwork FOUR times and the best efforts of Kylian Mbappe, Mats Hummels secured a 1-0 victory for Dortmund to win the tie 2-0 on aggregate.

That set-up a Champions League final showdown against Real Madrid, who beat Bayern Munich 24 hours later, at Wembley on June 1.

However, now a French publication has revealed that PSG chiefs were expecting their side to produce a comeback and advance.

And L’Equipe states that certain departments of the club had been told to begin preparing for the trip to London.

The confidence of everyone at the club seemed to be summed up by boss Luis Enrique pre-match.

The Spaniard said that he only knew one phrase in French, “on va gagner” – which translates to “we’re going to win.”

Many felt that attitude was bordering on arrogance.

And even Dortmund boss Edin Terzic said before kick off: “I find the Parisians confident in themselves.”

Meanwhile, PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi opened up on Luis Enrique’s future after the crushing defeat.

The ex-Spain and Barcelona boss, 54, only took over last July and could end the season with a domestic double.

It is widely-known that the club are craving a first-ever Champions League crown, which led to speculation that Enrique could be axed.

However, when asked if he would lose his job, Al-Khelaifi reportedly said: “Are you serious with this question? Honestly, do you know and understand some football?

“We are building a long term project with the youngest squad in Europe, future will be bright. We will keep going.”

Enrique, who guided Barca to Champions League glory in 2015, still has 12 months to run on his deal.
